With a 1st class honours degree in Applied Physics, Neil spent his early career in industrial research at the first company on the first science park in Britain at Cambridge, leading the team that won both the Design Award and the Queens Award for Technological Achievement. He then moved into management in the manufacturing industry and has held general management positions with companies such as Landis & Gyr, GEC, Wagon and Thorn Lighting.
For the last fifteen years, Neil has been working in the field of test, inspection and certification (TIC) with BSI and latterly the Applus Group. During this period, he also lectured part time in Corporate Finance on the Open University MBA programme. He is currently leading a group of five companies in Applus, specialising in non-destructive testing, QA/QC vendor inspection, certification and the provision of technical staff to the industry.
