Technical Advisory Committee

 

The BBA Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) is made up of a broad cross-section of BBA stakeholders representative of the UK construction industry. Members  have a technical background and are drawn from specifiers , building control bodies, building insurance bodies, contractors and suppliers. The role of the Technical Advisory Committee and its members is to:-

 

  • Provide input and advise on future technical work programmes
  • Comment on draft Leader Certificates (a leader is a first issue of either a new type of Certificate or a Certificate for a new type of product)
  • Advise on technical topics put forward by BBA staff.
  • Report on technical subjects relevant to BBA certification put forward by TAC members.
  • Assist in dealing with certification work as required (e.g. advice on useful contacts, dissemination of BBA information through lectures)
  • Hear appeals against decisions made on technical grounds by the BBA as provided for, and in accordance with the BBA’s Appeals Procedure.
  • Set up specialist working parties for members of the TAC to deal with specific technical topics as and when required.
