The BBA backs WSBF inquiry into water and housing policy

The Westminster Sustainable Business Forum (WSBF) is conducting an inquiry which will evaluate how the water and housing policy is currently being implemented in England, and set out an ambitious strategic plan for delivering water-efficient homes at volume, that are resilient to flooding.

This inquiry is being co-chaired by: Angela Smith MP, Labour Member of Parliament for Penistone and Stocksbridge and former Shadow Water Minister; and Baroness McIntosh of Pickering, Conservative Peer and former Chair of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee.

The BBA is delighted to be supporting this parliamentary inquiry, Claire Curtis-Thomas, BBA CEO, commented:

“As a leading assessor of product standards in the home, we want to ensure that domestic products are of high quality and  fit for purpose to meet future challenges such as surface water flooding.

This inquiry by the Westminster Sustainable Business Forum is of particular interest to the BBA and a number of our clients, as we want to ensure the adequacy of products and solutions in order to provide reassurance throughout the manufacturing and installing sector”.

WSBF is currently taking evidence as part of this inquiry and invites written submissions to be sent to jim.clark@policyconnect.org.uk.

The deadline for written submissions is 29th November 2017.
