The BBA are pleased to announce that Chris Hirschfield has recently been successful in his application as a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOMMM).
Chris Hirschfield joined the BBA four years ago as a Project Manager and is responsible for the Assessment and BBA Approval of Insulation products within the Construction Products Team.
In May 2014 Chris qualified as a Chartered Building Engineer and became a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE).
“Fellowship of IOM3 will provide both myself and the BBA an excellent opportunity to draw on and share valuable resources and experience in the evolving field of materials and product development.”
Chris has 37 years extensive experience in the Construction Industry, in a variety of professional roles within design, consultancy and technical disciplines including having worked for Architects and Interior Designers, Building Surveyors and Town-Planning Consultants, Consulting Civil and Structural Engineers and a leading UK Building Product Manufacturer.
Chris has combined his varied design, project management and materials testing experience together in his current role at the BBA, and was also involved in setting up the Constructive Details Programme (CDL) initially in 2012, providing the construction industry with a range of technical solutions to meet the thermal bridging requirements contained in Part L of the Building Regulations. Apart from his technical expertise, Chris brings a common-sense approach to product assessment and client relationship.
