Microgeneration
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), was introduced
by the Government to independently certify renewable energy
technologies, microgeneration products and installers in accordance
with documented standards.
The MCS Scheme
replaced the Clear Skies and PV programmes. Microgeneration
products must be certificated under the MCS Scheme to be
eligible when applying for Government incentives, such as
the Feed-in tariff scheme and the Renewable Heat
Incentive.
The BBA offers the MCS Certification service to manufacturers of
Solar Heating Collectors (solar thermal systems), Solar PV
(photovoltaics), Micro and Small Wind Turbines, Heat Pumps, Biomass
and Micro CHP (combined heat and power) technologies.
Full Agrément Certificates are also available for all
of these products, including important information not covered
by the MCS scheme, such as Regulatory compliance, durability,
output performance, weatherproofing, structural stability and
practicability of installation.
Further details may be found on the Microgeneration
DataSheet.
The BBA has awarded over 100 MCS
Certificates since the inception of the Microgeneration
Certification Scheme. For a full list of BBA MCS
