FMB Insurance Services (new name for Build Assure)
The BBA is contracted by the FMB (Federation of Master Builders) Insurance Services to complete the insurance inspections for the Build Assure 10 scheme. Although the name has changed from Build Assure to FMB Insurance Services, the service remains the same!
Build Assure 10 provides cover at similar standards to that which you would expect from a new homes policy. The cover is for a full ten years and is most suited to those who require long term protection and wish to add value to their property.
The benefits of Build Assure 10 remain the same:
1) Loss of deposit up to 10% of the insured value of the works
2) Liquidation cover or refusal to complete the works during construction, up to 10% of the insured value
3) Two years protection against structural defects or faulty workmanship resulting in your builder failing to comply with regulations, codes of practice, or matters which create a danger to the health and safety of the occupants as defined by the policy
4) Eight years protection against structural damage and water ingress relating to a load bearing element of the works, or other latent defects as defined by the policy
Assisting builders to maintain their high standards with new build properties is important to the BBA. Existing applications that require a survey to be carried out by the BBA will still need inspections at key stages of the build – the foundation, shell and completion stage assessments, depending on the construction project.
If you require the BBA to carry out an assessment visit please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01923 655 300.
