The British Board of Agrément (BBA) is a founding member of the World Federation of Technical Assessment Organisations (WFTAO), and in this capacity has hosted a delegation from Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL).

The British Board of Agrément (BBA) is a founding member of the World Federation of Technical Assessment Organisations (WFTAO), and in this capacity has hosted a delegation from Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL).

Established by the merger of Korea Institute of Construction Materials (KICM) and Korea Environment & Merchandise Testing Institute (KEMTI) on 8th July 2010, Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL) has branches throughout Korea, and is the best testing and certification organization in Korea that takes responsibility for the competitiveness of enterprises and the safety of consumers.

The delegation comprised of Dr Seong-Tae Chae, overseas business director; and Dr Jeong-Woo Park, technical director; with the purpose of discussing technical issues of common interest with a view to mutual cooperation including: building water proofing, material durability, environmental assessments and evaluation of dangerous substances.

The delegation will provide the basis for recognition of approvals coming from the BBA and KCL respectively.

WFTAO is the World Federation of Technical Assessment Organisations, a worldwide network for co-ordinating and facilitating the technical assessment of innovation in the construction field. It comprises officially recognised national bodies active in the field of technical assessments for construction products and systems and currently has members from twenty-one countries across the global market.
