Cementitious & Masonry

Cement is the main basic ingredient of ready-mix concrete and cementitious products comprise the glue that holds the concrete together.

Whether in bags or in bulk, cement is still the most widely used construction material worldwide, and the BBA has been certifying the bond that holds these building blocks together since its inception. Among the products we certify in this area are:

  • Masonry blocks – the most widely known construction component, we certify dense concrete, calcium silicate, autoclaved aerated and hybrid concrete blocks, with specialist mortars to suit
  • Cement-based boards – cladding, flooring and sheathing boards for internal and external use
  • Masonry components – connecting components such as wall-ties, fixings, hangers and straps ensure walls, floors and roofs stay where they should
