UKCA and UKNI Marks require that third party conformity activities carried out are done by a UK Approved Body, while CE Marking assessment activities need to be carried out by an EU Notified Body. The BBA has formed a partnership with EU Notified Bodies to prevent any duplication of activity and to facilitate an efficient process for our clients.
Building Regulations and guidance have been amended across the UK several times during 2022, mainly covering fire safety, energy economy and ventilation.
BBA Certificates are to be updated to allow for these new requirements, but users should be aware that this will take some time and that, in the meantime, the Regulations quoted and the associated comments may not be valid. This does not affect the performance characteristics quoted in Certificates and potential users should ensure that these parameters enable a product to satisfy the requirements of the current Regulations.
