We were delighted to be joined by Andrew Carpenter from the Structural Timber Association, who, along with Morteza Aboutalebi from the BBA, explored how the use of timber in construction could safely be increased.

The webinar discussed the range of timber frame options, along with the benefits of using timber, especially when it comes to offsite construction. The BBA’s Chief Engineer, Morteza Aboutalebi shared details of the rigorous testing that timber has to undergo for use in construction.

Andrew also shared an update on the Government’s Timber in Construction Working Group which is investigating how timber could offer a more sustainable construction material, whilst ensuring the industry is ready to adopt. Our thanks to Andrew and Morteza and to Shumaila Yousuf for hosting the webinar.
