The British Board of Agrément has further strengthened its dedication to safety and quality in the construction industry by joining Build UK, the sector’s leading representative organisation.

The BBA, the foremost body for certificating building products, joins the likes of Arup and Mace as a professional services member of Build UK, an organisation comprised of clients, main/specialist contractors and trade associations uniting as a single voice to address industry stakeholders.

Emma Wiles, marketing director at the BBA, said the move was ‘another significant step’ for the BBA as it continued to work with industry to drive safety and quality throughout the supply chain. “We believe in working with organisations and partners who share our vision to lead change and look forward to building even stronger relationships with all members of Build UK as we do that together,” Emma added.

Build UK represents more than 40% of the UK construction industry and has a focus on three key actions – improving business performance, increasing productivity, and recruiting, training and retaining talent to deliver change and enable the construction supply chain to improve the efficiency and delivery of projects.

Its chief executive Suzannah Nichol said they were ‘delighted’ to welcome the BBA into its membership: “By bringing together the whole of the construction supply chain, Build UK presents a strong voice for the industry and effectively influences government, clients and stakeholders. Our members understand the power of collaboration and how they can make a real difference to the way the industry operates.”
