Topic: Breaking the mould and the rise of all things SMART: How is the industry adapting?
Synopsis:
The construction technological landscape is evolving rapidly, and the effects can be felt across the supply chain. In an effort make the industry safer, the question for organisations now is not how and when they digitise, but rather what strategies are they adopting to keep with changing technology.
The UK is a hot-bed for innovation. Across industries we see businesses collaborating to share resources and ideas that cannot be addressed on a standalone basis. The Annual Innovation Survey (UK), states that only 3% of the companies within construction scale back on innovation – which means 97% see their innovations through. Through collaborative working, technological advances have enabled us to look at infrastructure more intelligently, thus allowing acceleration with the innovation spectrum and enabling a robust access to market.
In this roundtable discussion, we aim to explore the innovation changes within the construction industry particularly around all things SMART, how the industry is adapting to those changes and the challenges associated with bringing about those changes. The idea is to uncover inspiring stories, showcasing industry and embracing change.
