Meet us: Supplies welcomed by refugees in Khazir Camp Kurdistan

Khazir Camp Kurdistan in Northern Iraq is now home to thousands of people and their families who have fled the front-line battles near Mosul City.

Project Manager Azad Jemil visited Iraq over the Christmas and New Year taking with him the message ‘we’ve not forgotten you’ and money to buy desperately needed supplies for the refugees who have been displaced.  Azad commented:

“I cannot explain how grateful and happy the people were for our help.  My wife and I managed to raise a total of about £5,600, which was mainly spent on blankets, heaters, clothes, shoes, milk and drinking water.”

Azad made three visits to the camp, including one overnight stay on New Year’s Eve to try and understand further what the refugees are going through.  Azad added:

“It was a really emotional experience and one which will stay with me forever.”

The best way to support people in Khazir Camp Kurdistan is to go there or send aid directly, but this is not always possible.

The BringHope Foundation accepts donations to help the millions of refugees in Kurdistan.  This humanitarian foundation’s goals are to save lives, alleviate suffering, and maintain human dignity, as well as to give the most vulnerable group (refugee children) hope for the future.
