The BBA has updated its data privacy notice

The BBA has updated its Privacy and Data Protection Policy in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK Data Protection Act 2018 which came into force on the 25thof May 2018.

This new law aims primarily to give control to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU. Superseding the Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC, the regulation contains provisions and requirements pertaining to the processing of personally identifiable information of data subjects inside the European Union, and applies to all enterprise, regardless of location, that are doing business within the European Union.

The updated BBA Data Privacy Notice gives all BBA contacts details of the processing carried out on personal data, and the rights available to data subjects.

Speaking on this, Claire Aizlewood, Quality Manager for the BBA said “the BBA has always protected personal data in line with the Data Protection Act, and we welcome GDPR because it allows us to provide reassurance to our clients, and inform them of the positive work we continue to do on their behalf”.

As always, the BBA remains committed to the protection of personal data and commercial information, and our privacy notice and data protection policies will continue to be updated in line with the law.
