Sustainability

Sustainability, in the construction space, is about finding the balance between the environment, equity, and economy; basing activity on development that ‘meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs’. In the construction space, being sustainable relates to critical decisions made today that will have long-term effects; it means using renewable and recyclable materials when building new structures, it’s through clever re-use of space and materials and it’s about reducing energy consumption and waste.

Product and system development today is seeing construction manufacturing innovators challenge and disrupt traditional ways of doing things, for the sake of developing an environment that future generations can flourish in.

In this webinar, we take a look at best practice, where sustainability is rooted at the heart of construction and new product development; demonstrating why constructing sustainably is less about paying lip service to a hot topic.

What you’ll discover in this session;

– What makes a sustainable building?
– Why do BBA certified materials matter?
– Intro to the North West Bicester Eco Town project (Elmsbrook)
– Project sustainability: Design, Construction and user occupation
– The make-up of an eco-town – The products and what makes the project sustainable
– Learnings and the future
– Q&A – Your own all-important Q&A’s
