For the BBA, a focus on Quality isn’t limited to just a week in the calendar, but is part and parcel of our DNA.  World Quality Week is another opportunity to join forces with others in our industry that share our vision.

The BBA’s vision is to ensure total peace of mind in the built environments we live, work and play in and, as a champion of quality to our industry for over 55 years, the industry we serve expects and supports our drive in being a leading example.

Quality in action

The BBA’s quality team share their thoughts on what Quality means to them, and to find out more about what they do to ensure we maintain our value to the industry in driving quality and safety in the construction space.

Quality for our future

Our mission is to make the construction industry fit-for-purpose and future ready. The CQI’s initiative in enabling organisations to realise their competitive potential through driving quality is one that highlights the responsibility on all of us to work independently and in collaboration where quality is at the heart of every decision made, and every output produced.

The CQI writes, “In today’s complex and dynamic risk landscapes, maintaining a competitive advantage requires more than just operational resilience. Quality improvement principles and methods can help organisations quickly and effectively address inherent inefficiencies, allowing them to meet changing customer expectations faster, more economically, and sustainably than their competitors. Research from the UK construction consortium GIRI shows that avoidable errors in construction currently cost 21% of project value. By removing these inefficiencies throughout the economy, productivity, safety, and sustainability will all benefit.”

Carol Jackson – Quality Engineer: “Quality is about following a standard to meet the requirements of the business. It’s about being outcome obsessed, continually improving and always striving for perfection.”

Chris Messaritis – Group Quality Manager: “It’s about people in the organisation doing things the right way, at the right time to deliver excellent product and services to delight our customers.”

Norman Whyte – Health & Safety Senior Manager: “The BBA’s position within the construction industry and built environment sector we are seen by our peers as a beacon of quality over the years, as a result of that, we will be scrutinised if our quality isn’t right.”
