Technical Case Study: Developments in residential flooring: Understanding the implications

By Sean Downey (B.A, B.A.I)

As significant changes in the development of quicker and more efficient construction methods come underway, flooring manufacturers are looking at ways to expand and develop more products and technologies that meet the increasing demands being made of the marketplace for greater efficiency and adherence to environmental guidelines. In particular, stringent guidelines which have come into effect regarding thermal efficiency is making the flooring system selection process more complex for specifiers.

This challenge is made more complicated as the influx of new products and differing systems can make it difficult to select the right products for each individual site.

As a result, making the right decisions when selecting building products for all kinds of construction projects is even more essential.

Read our latest Technical Case Study which examines the transition from traditional flooring to thermally efficient flooring, the importance of Part L regulations and the importance of correct installation procedures and the impact of the Hackitt review.
